VAST <span class="highlight">Satellite</span> <span class="highlight">TV</span>

We are from the West and are travelling up the coast, we have just been making some enquiries about the new VAST sat tv and have been told that it can only be received from the east coast and the northern territory, as the signal can not yet be reached here from WA. Is there anybody out there, who has already purchased the new vast, possibly been able to pick up the signal from WA???

The satellite signal is available Australia wide. In the old system travellers were supposed to contact Impaja or Central Seven to get the east channels switched on and Win and GWN to get the west channels switched on. There does not appear to be the same restriction with VAST in that travellers will be able to view either the north or south eastern channels in WA although of course the times will be east times, ie 2 or 3 hours ahead. WA channels are testing now and by some reports may be available soon. The only difference between east and west will be the viewing times ie times will be local.
